East Belmont Cricket Club

ebcclogoThe East Belmont Cricket Club has entered into an exciting new partnership with AWA Alliance Bank which is likely to deliver significant new facilities at Winter Reserve for the benefit of all Junior and Senior Members.

New change room and training facilities are two projects that are well advanced in their planning and are a real chance of being delivered leading into the 2017/18 cricket season, as an outcome of this partnership with AWA Alliance Bank.

To ensure that these and future projects can be delivered we require all East Belmont Junior and Senior Members and their parents and families to consider AWA Alliance Bank for their banking needs.

We simply ask that you compare your current banking arrangements with what is being offered by AWA Alliance Bank and if you are better off, to make the switch. We also ask you to encourage family and friends to undertake the same comparison.

Thank you for your consideration – your support is vital to the future operations of your cricket club.

AWA Supports Karingal & Hundred Hole Hike

Over the last four years the Karingal Hundred Hole Hike has raised much needed funds to support programs for people living with an acquired brain injury (ABI).  AWA will be supporting a determined and dedicated group of Hikers that will take on the extreme golfing challenge to play 100 holes in one day, all on foot. (20 January 2017)

AWA’s team will be lead by one of our Directors (Sean O’Neill) who will hit the course at sunrise, to undertake an extraordinary task for a great cause.

HHH 13th

Karingal is a not‐for‐profit organisation that offers a range of services for people with a disability or mental illness.  As part of this work, Karingal offers services specifically tailored to support people who have an acquired brain injury (ABI) and their families.

An ABI can happen to anyone, at any time. A ‘coward’s’ hit, a motor vehicle accident, stroke or something as simple as a fall are just some of the incidents that can result in damage to the brain and an ABI. In the blink of an eye an ABI can dramatically change a person’s life and they could find themselves facing a lifetime of disability with a range of medical, physical, cognitive and sensory issues as well as the emotional and psychological impacts.

The funds raised through sponsorship of the golfers goes directly to the ABI Clubhouse at the Eastern Hub.  The public can learn about the golfers and their reason for taking on this challenge, plus make donations to their fundraising total, by going to and following the links.

As the Hikers finish their mammoth day, the bands of Music to a Tee are there to welcome them.  In 2017 another fantastic line up is headed up by the inimitable Brian Nankervis (RockWiz and The Friday Revue on 774 ABC), Heartache State, featuring a surfcoast favourite Nick Barker, young local group Hey Mammoth and The Carers Choir, will entertain the crowd and welcome the golfers at the end of their long day.  Fabulous raffle and auction prizes will also be on offer on the day.

The lawns of the 13th Beach Golf Links, will again host this family friendly celebration.  Bar snacks and gourmet BBQ will be available on the night from the 13th Beach Golf Links restaurant and bar.

The Hundred Hole Hike has become a great event for golfers and music lovers.  This inclusive event is a great way to show your support for people who live with ABI and the golfers who put themselves to this huge test to raise awareness and funds.

AWA Alliance Bank partners with Basketball Geelong

In mid-2015 AWA and Basketball Geelong (BG) entered into discussions regarding the development of a new basketball stadium for the Geelong region.

These discussions centred on AWA’s new focus on supporting social enterprise/community initiatives and to make a positive impact in the communities in which we operate. This has led to the formation of a partnership between AWA and BG which has culminated in a push by BG to seek further funding from Federal, State and local Government for the development of the new basketball stadium. Learn more about our partnership with BG and their push for a new basketball stadium (Via this link don’t forget to show your support for the new stadium).

AWA and BG 2016AWA CEO Graeme Scannell said “This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver on our social enterprise aspirations by supporting an organisation that does so much good in the community, but is significantly restricted by a shortage of facilities. This initiative has the ability to deliver to the community on so many levels including the provision of AWA membership opportunities to the 3700 BG members and their families.”

BG CEO Dean Anglin acknowledged the support of AWA and said “The development of this stadium would not be possible without the support of AWA Alliance Bank”.

The Board are confident of the merits of this partnership which we anticipate to be the first of many more initiatives of this type to follow.
