AWA was thrilled to be involved with congratulating Bellarine Living and Learning Centre on their $30,000 grant from this year’s Give Where You Live Survive and Thrive grant round. 

The grant will be used to employ a project coordinator to further develop food security programs in the 3219 postcode area. 

Our visit to the centre happened to fall on a food service day. We witnessed the great community atmosphere and welcoming spirit that community members receive when entering the centre. The service was incredibly well run and easy for the community members to use. Akin to shopping at a supermarket without the cash register at the end and you’re handed a lovely home cooked meal to go with it. 

In total over $420,000 was provided in grants to 15 local organisations. 

Over 100 volunteers including AWA staff and directors dedicated their time to assessing the many applications that came through.
